to Route 2 Café and Apartments.

This licensed eco-café, formerly the Steam Packet Inn, offers an alternative eating and drinking venue that appeals to young and not-so-young alike.

Selected by The Guardian as 'one of the top 10 cycling cafés in the UK', we are located just off Topsham Quay, a stone's throw from the River Exe estuary, directly on the National Cycle Network Route 2 cycle path that connects Exeter, Exmouth and the whole of the West Country.

However you reach us -- by bike, foot, car, or boat -- Route 2 is open from 8am every day. Join us for the famous Route 2 breakfasts, for morning coffee, lunches freshly prepared from locally sourced foods, fabulous Devon cream teas, as well as excellent local drinks, from tea, coffee and juices to a pint of local ale or a glass or bottle of superb wine.

Closing time is 5pm monday to friday and 6pm on weekends. On events nights we close later. If in doubt give give us a quick call on 01392 875085.

Route 2 Apartments
In addition to our eco-café, we offer accommodation in three well-equipped and self-catered apartments that are available by the week or long weekend. Online Bookings taken.

Location and parking
Route 2 is located on the corner of Holman Way and Monmouth Hill, just off Topsham Quay where there is ample public parking, free from 5pm to 9am. Free street parking is available on Holman Way towards the station. There is also reasonably priced parking in the Holman Way car park (parking on the Quay during the day is more expensive).

Taste of Devon

Our popular Taste of Devon evenings take place monthly. Our amazing chefs, Lee Borrowdale and Head Chef Ryan Adams, really enjoy putting together delicious menus based on our seasonal, local Devon produce.

Our next evening will be Saturday February 28th. Book now to avoid disappointment!

I look forward to seeing you.
